Street Art

Once undervalued and unappreciated, street art gained it’s importance slowly over the decades. Personally, I don’t think there’s any other form of art as reflective and realistic as street art. It’s straight forward and loud. The artists are not there to produce work to please buyers or to be collected by a museum or gallery. The artist uses the city and the streets as their canvas and express what they feel and think without any censor.

My favorite street artist, and probably one of the most important of our time, is Banksy. He’s work combined social and political influences. Many of his work is centered around the theme of love and peace. To be true to yourself, kind to others, and always be hopeful.
